You Are What You Eat
by Ahsharah  - 3 Years and 11 Months ago.

Many Black Women suffer from Diabetes, Gout, Roumatoid Arthritis, Obesity, High Blood Pressure, etc. Many of these ailments can be cured simply by following the Holy Dietary Instructions given to us by our God. We are a holy people serving a Holy Spiritual Power. Read Leviticus 11 below. It outlines what foods God has sanctioned for us to eat and what foods God has said are not to be eaten. Now we can agree that God in all His infinite Wisdom would know exactly the right foods for your to consume in your body and what foods would tear your body down, give you worms (pork), make your blood pressure go up (cat fish, shrimp, crabs, lobsters). These are all animals that were made to clean up the wastes from other animals on the earth. Now what happens when you eat the garbage disposal… all the garbage goes inside of you!  Sisters stop wasting your hard earned $$ money on books and tapes about dieting and eating right.  God has already given it to you…

Leviticus 11

1: And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,
2: Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.
3: Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
4: Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
5: And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
6: And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
7: And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
8: Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.
9: These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10: And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11: They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12: Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
13: And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,
14: And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;
15: Every raven after his kind;
16: And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,
17: And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,
18: And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,
19: And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.
20: All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.
21: Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;
22: Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.
23: But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.
24: And for these ye shall be unclean: whosoever toucheth the carcase of them shall be unclean until the even.
25: And whosoever beareth ought of the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
26: The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean.
27: And whatsoever goeth upon his paws, among all manner of beasts that go on all four, those are unclean unto you: whoso toucheth their carcase shall be unclean until the even.
28: And he that beareth the carcase of them shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: they are unclean unto you.
29: These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind,
30: And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole.
31: These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even.
32: And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.
33: And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.
34: Of all meat which may be eaten, that on which such water cometh shall be unclean: and all drink that may be drunk in every such vessel shall be unclean.
35: And every thing whereupon any part of their carcase falleth shall be unclean; whether it be oven, or ranges for pots, they shall be broken down: for they are unclean, and shall be unclean unto you.
36: Nevertheless a fountain or pit, wherein there is plenty of water, shall be clean: but that which toucheth their carcase shall be unclean.
37: And if any part of their carcase fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it shall be clean.
38: But if any water be put upon the seed, and any part of their carcase fall thereon, it shall be unclean unto you.
39: And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even.
40: And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.
41: And every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth shall be an abomination; it shall not be eaten.
42: Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or whatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
43: Ye shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.
44: For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
45: For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
46: This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moveth in the waters, and of every creature that creepeth upon the earth:
47: To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

And speaking of clean and unclean; Noah actually knew the difference between clean and unclean animals as well. Check this out

Genesis 7:1-2

1: And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
2: Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

So now we see that the “two by two” story is only half the story of what God really instructed Noah to do. God told Noah to take 7 of the each of the clean beasts male and female and 2 of the unclean beasts, male and female.

There's also a Biblical passage---sorry I don't remember which one--- about not drinking and about the need for fresh fruit and vegetables. When I read it I was struck by what you are saying which is that if we just follow the good book, it's all there!

Ahsharah Rawchaa   - 3 Years and 11 Months ago

Candace actually the Bible never condemned drinking it is the access or being excessively drunk constantly that The Bible says is wrong.

Check these scriptures out:

Proverbs 31:6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

When you check out the condition of black people and the constant oppression we face on a daily basis both as a people and as individuals it's hard to keep enduring the racism, the lack of funds, the pay check to pay check living, dealing with family issues and the list goes on. So what happens to our people; they start looking for an escape! Drugs is the biggest thing. But God is showing us that if you have a heavy heart, or facing a serious life situation you can take a drink, why? Because it helps you relax, so instead of shooting up some cocaine or smoking a blunt have you a glass of wine and chill out. Then pray to God and ask for guidance and direction in your current situation.

Also Christ performed a miracle of turning water into wine:
John 2:3-11
3: And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4: Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5: His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6: And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7: Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8: And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9: When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10: And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11: This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

One final point Sis: The reason the scriptures caution against drinking wine in excess and being drunk is because you have to be sober minded in this world to deal with all the troubles and evils of this world.

Titus 2:3-4
3: The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4: That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

Notice the scripture says not "given to much wine" again showing that it's ok to drink wine but you have to remain in control of your actions.

The word sober means: marked by seriousness, gravity, solemnity; showing self-control

What are we exercising self control over: The main thing is our flesh! We are bringing the desires of our flesh under the obedience of Jesus Christ (following God’s words the Holy Bible).

Romans 7:24-25
24: O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25: I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Thank you, Ahsharah, for bringing this topic to the "light" for a lot of Black women. Many people think that if you can't eat shrimp/crab/lobster/catfish/calamari, then there's nothing else in the sea that you can eat! But the Lord blessed us with a huge variety of fish to eat. Also, people think that a burger isn't a burger unless it's topped with bacon. They'd feel differently if they realized that those 2 crispy slices of bacon are crawling with microscopic (trichina) worms! (*lol*)

Thank you Ahsharah for putting all of this information in one place. I am going to print it and make it part of my daily Bible reading to help me fight my battle with weight. Keep sharing the truth with your sisters.

Thank you Ahsharah for all of this information. I knew that all of this info was there but I had forgotten the book in the Bible. I will spend my daily reading in Leviticus also. The holidays are almost here again, so everything in moderation, somethings not at all. It is a constant project in progress.

Just further proof that we should stick to the dietary laws that God gave us... I saw on the news today that imported sea food such as shrimp, catfish and sword fish are being injected with antibiotics that causes leukemia and other forms of cancer when digested by humans... this is reported from a study done by the FDA. You know seafood is imported because it should have imported on the label.
